Riad / Palota
Az egykor andalúz stílusban épített paloták régen a családok – nagy arányban a nők – privát szféráját voltak hivatottak megóvni. Úgymond oázisként szolgáltak a soukok nyüzsgő porából szabadulván vagy sokkal inkább beburkolózva egy még eldugottabb, rejtett világba (manapság már hotelként funkcionálnak). Iszonyú a kontraszt, hatalmas a szakadék a szűk, nyomorúságos, poros, fülledt utca és az egy-egy zsákutca mélyén rejlő riad gyönyörű medencéi, pálmafái, narancs és citrom ligetei között. A belsőépítészetről nem is beszélve… azt látni kell és érezni.
Riad / Palace
The palaces that were built once in Andalusian style were intended to protect the families’ – mostly the female members of the families – privacy. They served as oasises when escaping from the bustling world of the souks or – more likely – to be wrapped in an even more hidden, secret hideout (these function as hotels nowadays). There’s an enormous contrast, rift between a narrow, dusty, woeful, muggy street and the pools, palms, lemon and orange trees of the riad hiding int he deep of an alley. Not to speak about the interior desing of them.. You have to see and feel it.
